The Alpaca Partnership is based in the hills of the Derbyshire countryside, conveniently situated in the centre of the country and close to all major motorways networks.

Our herd comprises around 60 alpacas including males of both stud and pet quality, and over 20 breeding females of both Peruvian and Chilean extraction.

Alpacas are a rare and beautiful animal and their health and welfare are of paramount importance to The Alpaca Partnership.
Our number one priority will be to ensure that every animal in our care is kept in the best of health.
We will do this by maintaining the highest possible standards of nutririon, land management, husbandry and medical care.

The Alpaca Partnership's breeding programme is absolutely key to achieving our ultimate aim:

                          "an elite herd of the finest Alpaca"

To this end we have defined a programme that is centered around continuous herd improvement. We see this programme having a number of elements.

• careful bloodline selection based on sound knowledge
• annual, scientific herd review including micron testing
• herd rationalisation
• investment in improvement
  

With 10 years experience of working with alpacas Jan and Lesley have joined together to create the Alpaca Partnership, with a view to provide sound practical advice with top quality stud services and animals for sale.

We believe that in order to promote the health and well being of alpacas and the industry, it is vital that we participate and remain dedicated to the continuous learning process. To this end we are active members of the BAS, we have set up and manage the Alpaca section of the Hope Agricultural show and also provide and take part in courses covering the handling, nutrition, management and judging of alpacas.

Jan and Lesley are dedicated to providing a personal service of the very best quality, and to this end our ambition is to keep our herd size to no more than 100 of the finest alpacas. So as to ensure our knowledge of alpacas is of the best possible standard we are both committed to achieving the highest levels of judging qualifications with Lesley having already passed her level 2.
