The
Alpaca Partnership is based in
the hills of the Derbyshire countryside, conveniently situated in
the centre of the country and close to all major motorways networks.
Our herd comprises around 60 alpacas including males of both
stud and pet quality, and over 20 breeding females of both Peruvian
and Chilean extraction.
Alpacas
are a rare and beautiful animal and their health and welfare are
of paramount importance to The Alpaca Partnership.
Our number one priority will be to ensure that every animal in our
care is kept in the best of health.
We will do this by maintaining the highest possible standards of
nutririon, land management, husbandry and medical care.
The
Alpaca Partnership's breeding programme is absolutely key to achieving
our ultimate aim:
"an
elite herd of the finest Alpaca"
To
this end we have defined a programme that is centered around continuous
herd improvement. We see this programme having a number of elements.
- careful
bloodline selection based on sound knowledge
- annual,
scientific herd review including micron testing
- herd
rationalisation
- investment
in improvement
